St. Augustine Wildflower Honey Old Fashioned

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz bourbon or rye whiskey
  • 1/2 oz Honey Truck St. Augustine Wildflower Honey
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • Orange peel, for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Make the Honey Syrup: Since honey can be quite thick, it's best to make a simple honey syrup. In a small bowl or glass, mix the wildflower honey with the water until well combined. This will make it easier to blend into the cocktail.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In an Old Fashioned glass, add the honey syrup and bitters. Stir to combine.
  3. Add Whiskey: Pour in the bourbon or rye whiskey. Stir gently to mix.
  4. Add Ice: Add one large ice cube or a few smaller ones to the glass. Stir gently for about 20 seconds to chill the drink and slightly dilute it.
  5. Garnish: Twist the orange peel over the glass to release the oils, then rub it around the rim of the glass. Drop the peel into the drink as a garnish.
  6. Serve: Enjoy your Wildflower Honey Old Fashioned!

This version of the Old Fashioned will have a delightful floral sweetness from the wildflower honey, complementing the rich flavors of the whiskey beautifully. Cheers!
