Gearing Up For Spring
Every year it’s important that a beekeeper prepares for the upcoming season. One of the tasks a beekeeper must do is cleaning and inspecting all their hive equipment. Doing so will help keep equipment ready for the honey flow and keep it in the best shape. The honey supers and brood boxes are looked over for any broken pieces, and any burr comb, and/or propolis is scraped off. This keeps the equipment moving freely and easily. If any boxes aren't marked with a firm number, they are branded with an iron to ensure if they're stolen they can be easily identified.
